For Children and Families
More About Pediatric Aquatic Therapy
At Current Practice PT, we specialize in providing thoughtful, individualized aquatic physical therapy for children of all ages — from infants to teens. We understand that every child is unique, and we tailor each session to meet your child’s physical, sensory, and emotional needs through engaging, movement-based therapy in the water.
Whether we’re working on balance, core strength, motor coordination, range of motion, or mobility, the goal is always the same: to help your child move with more confidence, joy, and ease.
Why Water for Kids?
The water offers a naturally supportive and motivating environment for pediatric therapy. Here's why it works so well:
Buoyancy helps children move more freely and reduces the effort needed to stay upright.
Hydrostatic pressure can feel calming and organizing to the nervous system — like a full-body hug. This also helps with bloodflow.
Water resistance makes movement fun and challenging, building strength and coordination without heavy impact.
The pool is also a safe place to practice balance and movement skills without fear of falling.
It’s fun!
Supporting the Whole Family
We know that pediatric care is really family-centered care. We work closely with parents and caregivers to:
Set meaningful goals
Collaborate on home strategies
Celebrate (sm)all wins along the way
You'll be included in the process every step of the way, whether your child is in the water with you nearby, or practicing independence with support from your therapist.
